Measured variable: amount of ferromagnetic particles

The sensor detects the number of ferromagnetic particles that collect at the permanent magnet of the sensor head. These may be fine particles in the micrometer range and coarse fragments in the

millimeter range. On the basis of the output signal can be read the coverage of the surface. In addition, the sensor has the possibility to compensate the magnetic field, whereby the particles are released. The change in wear can be inferred from the time intervals between the cleaning operations.
